The International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) has developed a suite of programs that meet the demands of today’s digital world.
ICDL has structured programs such as NDE (National Digital Explorer) Program for students to build the ideal digital skill set for their learning needs.
To develop digitally fluent students equipped with the mastery of practical digital skills (like Mircosoft Office) for future digital workplace.
To encourage students to be self-directed learners who take ownership of their learning.
To provide students with the opportunity to gain an international outlook with ICDL Asia Digital Challenge (2025 for SKSS).
Subject Teachers will also be tapping on their IT Skillsets in class assignments or projects. Hence, it is highly recommended that students partake in this program.
The mode of learning will be self-directed without the aid of teacher's facilitation in the classroom. This is to promote independent learning culture amongst the students.
Student should follow the designated timeline when completing the units assigned to them. The units in the modules for completion timeline will be made available on the Sec 1 and 2 student calendars respectively.
As the e-learning is a web-based portal, students may complete the assignments at the various locations:
After School : Home
After school : In the school computer labs (with teacher's / ICT Personnel's supervision)
Classroom : During SDL Periods on their PLDs (From April onwards)
Students are strongly encouraged to use either a laptop or tablet for a better learning experience on the portal.
As of now, Sec 1 students can use their personal home devices such as laptop or tablets to complete the assignments at home. By April, students can start using their PLDs to complete the assignments.
Students without any devices at home, can book a slot to use the school computer lab to complete the assignments after school at the ICT Helpdesk Office during their recess period.
