The Science Scholars Programme (SSP) provides Science students in TDP with varied opportunities to deepen their knowledge and skills in Science by attending and undertaking Science-based research projects, talks, learning journeys, activities under the guidance of academics and scientists in a real-world science research environment.
The Science Research Programme (SRP) provides highly capable students with the opportunity to undertake research projects.
We are proud to recognise Liew Yie Hann, whose participation in SRP in 2025 demonstrated exceptional dedication and skill. During his research, he designed and programmed two devices: one to produce a linear increase and decrease of magnetic field, and another to generate orthogonal oscillations for use in a magneto-impedance spectrometer. He then generously shared his devices and relevant expertise with other teams from TJC and RI.
As part of the SSP learning journey, students took part in the Singapore Science and Engineering Fair (SSEF) Public Day 2025. The journey began with the STEM talks, which sparked students’ curiosity by showing how classroom learning connects to the real world and how STEM plays a critical role in addressing complex global challenges. These sessions also provided insights into diverse STEM professions, encouraging students to envision future careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The journey culminated in Public Day, where students participated in engaging hands-on activities designed by industry partners and interacted with SSEF Student Finalists, who shared their research projects and personal experiences. Through this rich and interactive experience, students not only deepened their understanding of STEM but also discovered its potential to shape the future in meaningful ways.
