Humanities Scholars Programme
Saints from the TDP Humanities Scholars Programme (HSP) are exposed to Humanities based activities, learning journeys, workshops, talks and other exciting opportunities to stretch their perspective and expertise in Humanities.
HSP Symposium 2025
In 2025, our HSP students attended the Humanities Symposium 2025, that brought together students and educators to explore the theme “Whither Singapore? Examining Perspectives and Changing Contexts Through the Lenses of the Humanities in an AI-fuelled Future World.” The event began with a keynote address by Minister for Education, Mr Chan Chun Sing, who shared insights on Singapore’s future in an AI-driven era. A distinguished panel comprising Ms Andrea Phua (National AI Group), Mr Kerry Mok (SATS Group), and Professor Kenneth Benoit (Singapore Management University) further enriched the discussion with diverse perspectives on the role of the Humanities in a rapidly changing landscape. Students also engaged in breakout sessions, allowing them to have a meaningful platform for critical dialogue, collaboration, and reflection on Singapore’s future.
HSP Academic Mentoring
The HSP Academic Mentoring provides Arts students (as well as interested Science students) with a differentiated Humanities curriculum as part of the Talent Development Programme. A key component of HSP Academic Mentoring is its research-based approach and close guidance of students, allowing them to pursue deeply in specific content areas in the respective Humanities and English Language / Literature subject of their choice.
Helmed by teachers from the Humanities, Economics, and English Language Departments, this programme cultivates student autonomy by strengthening academic competencies, nurturing intellectual curiosity, and deepening subject mastery. Through this specialised mentoring, students are guided to explore their interests more meaningfully while developing critical and analytical skills essential in the Humanities. The programme also serves to inspire students to extend their learning by pursuing relevant H3 subjects in JC2.
The HSP Academic Mentoring not only enriches the academic experience of HSP students but also fosters confidence, independence, and purpose in their learning journey.
