welcome to Queenstown Secondary School ART and MUSIC Microsite
Ang Xue Ning (Class of 2016) discovered her passion for Visual Art in the art studios of Queenstown Secondary School, where dedicated teachers and a nurturing environment inspired her to pursue the arts with confidence and curiosity. Building on this strong foundation, she went on to study Fine Art (3D Practice) at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, graduating in 2020 as one of the top students of her cohort.
During her time at NAFA, Xue Ning received numerous academic honours, including the prestigious Ngee Ann Kongsi Gold Medal, the Best Graduate Award, the Woon Tai Jee Art Prize (First Prize), the Harvard Prize Book, the IWF Education Grant for Young Women and the Tan Chay Bing Scholarship. Her graduation work “Waiting for The Salt” was selected for NAFA’s Best of Best Show, and she was invited to present her ideas and practice at platforms such as the Southeast Asian Arts Forum and the Sculpture Society (Singapore).
Today, she continues her academic journey as a postgraduate sculpture student at the National Taiwan University of Arts, where she further explores three-dimensional forms, materials and the human condition. Her trajectory from Queenstown Secondary School to an award-winning fine art graduate and now an international postgraduate student exemplifies the kind of artistic and academic excellence that can be cultivated through passion, perseverance and strong mentorship.
