The Instructional Programme Support Group (IPSG) was formed to provide platforms for A-Level teachers from different schools to network, share their insights and experiences as well as exchange good pedagogical practices. The various IPSGs for the different A-Level subjects were established in 2008.
One of the highlights for the A-Level science teachers is the IPSG Symposium where teachers gather annually to share their best practices with the fraternity. The IPSG 2024 will be back in physical settings at Victoria Junior College.
This year's IPSG will feature speaker, Dr Wong Lung Hsiang.

Blended Learning through Seamless Learning Experiences
In the past years, blended learning has been launched and practiced in many schools worldwide. This provides new opportunities for teachers to exploit the transformative potential of technology and blended learning to move towards Modification and Re-definition - by creating seamless learning experiences for students across the classroom environment and beyond, with the aid of technology. In this talk, participants will gain a better understanding of blended learning and the principles of designing blended lessons and activities for JC physics classes. It is hoped that through the lens of authentic and seamless learning, participants will find new ways of looking at blended learning and are encouraged to reflect on new possibilities in engaging students seamlessly across different learning environments.
Dr. Wong Lung Hsiang is a Senior Education Research Scientist at the Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice (CRPP), Office of Education Research, National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the State University of Malang, Indonesia. His current research focuses on mobile and seamless learning, computer-assisted language and science learning, computer-supported collaborative learning, AI in education, and teachers' professional development.
Notably, Dr. Wong has contributed to the field by conceptualising and developing the "10 Dimensions of Mobile Seamless Learning," a widely referenced framework in seamless learning, akin to blended learning. His seamless learning frameworks have influenced Master Teachers at the Academy of Singapore Teachers (AST) in shaping the blended learning design framework and associated professional development for MOE schools in late 2020. As a result, he has been invited to deliver over 10 blended learning workshops and talks locally and internationally in the past two years.
To date, he has authored or co-edited three books on seamless learning and a book on technology for science education, published over 200 papers, and received nine Best/Outstanding Paper Awards at various international conferences. Dr. Wong was honoured with the prestigious APSCE Distinguished Researcher Award in 2015 and served as the President of the Asia-Pacific Society for Computers in Education from 2018 to 2019. Additionally, he has been recognised among the top 2% of scientists in the world for three consecutive years in an ongoing study by Stanford University.
