What is a Recount: A recount tells a series of events in the past that are chronologically sequenced.
We Are Learning To (WALT):
1. understand a text through predicting, questioning and recalling story ideas.
2. make text-to-self [T-S] or text-to-world [T-W] connections to understand what is said in the text.
Success criteria:
I can read and annotate the text independently.
I can identify the features of a recount.
Orientation:
• Where and when did this recount take place? (setting in time and place)
• Who are the characters?
• What is their relationship to one another?
Chronology of events:
• What are the events that happened to the characters in this recount?
Comment:
• How did the characters impact one another in the story?
What is a Tsunami?
