Direct School Admission for junior colleges (DSA-JC) allows students to apply to a DSA school before taking the GCE O-Level examinations.
You can apply based on your talent in sports, CCAs and specific academic areas that may not be demonstrated at the O-Level examinations.
If you are admitted to a school through DSA-JC, you are not allowed to:
Participate in the Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE).
Transfer to another school. You must commit to their chosen school for the duration of the programme.
Application deadline for each DSA-JC school may be different. Students should visit the individual schools’ website for information on application period, procedures and selection criteria.
Check the individual schools’ websites for more details as the application period, procedures and selection criteria differ from school to school.
You can use this website to do a search for the Junior College websites.
Each school will have its own start date and deadline for applications.
Submit relevant documents and your application to the schools you are interested in applying to.
For more information on 2023 DSA-JC, please refer to the MOE website at https://www.moe.gov.sg/dsa-jc.
Eligibility for DSA will vary from school to school.
The basic eligibility is that you will need to score below 20 for your L1R5 in your O level examinations.
However, as this will not have happened yet during the DSA application phase, you will be selected based on the criteria set out by the school you are applying for.
When they offer you a place, the offer only comes into effect if you meet the JC requirements when your 'O' Level results are released the following year.
