Northland Girl Guides empowers our members to reach their fullest potential and grow into adaptable, confident young women. Anchored in our REAL approach – Relevant, Engaging, Accessible and Learner-Led – our programmes are designed to equip every Guide with skills, values and mindset to lead and serve.
Our Guides took part in a wide range of meaningful and hands-on Guiding experiences such as the World Thinking Day Celebrations, a visit to Sree Narayana Mission Home and the North Division Fest. In support of environmental sustainability, our unit also took part in the Go Green Singapore Campaign, promoting environmental awareness and responsibility. A key milestone was our inter-school collaboration with Xinmin Secondary School, where forged new friendships beyond their own unit.
We are especially proud that Eva Eryna Binte Rashid (2 Vega) was selected to represent our unit in the National Day Parade – a first for Northland Girl Guides! In addition, we are delighted to share that we attained the Puan Noor Aishah Award (PNAA) – Silver. A Special congratulations also go to Mella Melissa Kelly Topacio (4 Castor), for attaining the Baden Powell Award (BPA) recipient, one of the highest accolades a Girl Guide can attain.
Northland Girl Guides remain committed to preparing our members for life, guided by the school values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience.
In NCC Air, cadets go through lessons and activities on aviation knowledge, military knowledge and sports activities throughout the year. There were opportunities to experience flying on aircraft such as the C-130, Fokker 50, and MRTT A330, giving cadets a close-up look at military aviation. Our cadets also took part in vibrant celebrations like the National Day Parade at Padang, showcasing their leadership and spirit.
Sports also brought us plenty of fun and camaraderie, with competitions in Captain’s Ball, Ultimate Frisbee, and 5-a-side Soccer at the NCC Sports Championship. In addition, cadets learned how to handle the SAR21 rifle, adding an element of challenge and excitement. Visits to UAV command centers and airbases provided further opportunities for learning and adventure, giving cadets firsthand experience of the air force environment.
Leadership development has always been an integral component of our training programme. Our student leaders organised weekly training sessions and provided support for the younger cadets. As we forge forward, we hope that the squadron and our cadets will continue to shine.
The National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC) is committed to nurturing leadership skills, building strong character, and instilling essential civic, social, and moral values in its cadets.
Our key programmes include Area Games Day, the .22 Pistol Shooting Competition, and hands-on courses like Unarmed Tactics. Cadets can also take part in NPCC Camp Resilience at the Adventure Training Camp (ATC), Pulau Ubin, where they develop confidence, character, and leadership through outdoor challenges. The camp features activities such as tent pitching, team-building exercises, and a land expedition across the island—all designed to strengthen leadership in a dynamic, outdoor setting.
Through these enriching experiences, NPCC aims to cultivate the values of resilience, integrity, service, and excellence, shaping cadets into responsible individuals who are committed to making a positive difference in our community.
