The Northland Guzheng Ensemble is dedicated to nurturing skilled musicians in the art of playing the traditional Chinese instrument, the Guzheng. True to our motto, "Play as Musicians, Play as Family," we strive not only to cultivate musical excellence but also to foster a deep sense of camaraderie and belonging among our members. The Ensemble stood together through every challenge, lifting one another up with steadfast support and encouragement.
Guided by committed student leaders, our Ensemble upholds the school’s core values, embracing a profound respect for the arts, a strong sense of responsibility, and the resilience required to pursue excellence. These values were evident this year as members prepared for the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation. Through countless hours of dedicated practice, every note, gesture, and expression was refined with care.
Our Ensemble’s unwavering determination and bond as one musical family culminated in a proud achievement: the Certificate of Accomplishment at the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation 2025.
Our Indian Dance aims to instil the love for dance and enthuse the dancers to appreciate their Indian cultural heritage and the various Indian dance forms. This year our enthusiastic dancers took the opportunity to display their dance prowess on various platforms both in school and externally. In school, they performed a traditional folk dance during the Pongal Festival and performed a classical Bharathanatyam dance during Starcolade 2025. Eight dancers represented our school by partnering Genesis School for “An Extra.Ordinary Celebration” performance at Media Corp, bedazzling the audience with “My Own SuperHero.” All their efforts paid off when our girls did the school proud with the Certificate of Accomplishment at this year’s Singapore Youth Festival.
The Northland Malay Dancers have displayed qualities of respect for the dance discipline, responsibility in refining their dance moves and resilience in their journey to achieve dance excellence. The Nova Lestari has done the school proud by achieving Certificate of Achievement for the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) 2025. This achievement is the result of the dancers’ sheer hard work and resilience in their pursuit for an excellent performance. Training sessions kicked off very early in the year, allowing the opportunity for our dancers to learn the art of juggling between Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) and studies. We are blessed to have been given the platforms on which we have the opportunities to not only showcase our talents but also harness and sharpen our skills as well as fortify our camaraderie.
The Multi-Cultural Artiste Club (MCAC) is an energetic dance group for students with interest and passion in street dance and hip-hop. Dancing is an effective platform for improved fitness and core stability as well as the development of confidence and creative self-expression among our youths. Our training sessions provide a healthy, supportive environment for making friends and building a community of students with a shared passion for dance. Working towards mastering choreography or performing on stage teaches our dancers to set goals and persevere. In 2025, our resilient dancers showcased a vibrant and empowering performance titled “Salute” in the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Arts Presentation and clinched a Certificate of Accomplishment for their hard work. Our dancers have also been actively performing for various school concerts such as Chinese New Year, Youth Day, Teachers’ Day and PassionArts. Most of our performances were self-choreographed and led by our talented dance leaders!
The Symphonic Band aims to cultivate musical talents through the various school activities happening throughout the year such as the school’s National Day Parade, the biennial Passion Arts performance and the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation. Band members also learn to appreciate the many facets of music by going for learning journeys to watch orchestra performances. The band will continue to work hard and strive to achieve its motto of “One Band, One Sound” and at the same time, develop values of respect, responsibility and resilience in its members.
