Led by passionate student leaders, our ensemble embraces the school’s core values, emphasising respect for the arts, responsibility to the group, and the resilience required to achieve our goals. In preparation for our mini-concert, "Stroll in the Music Garden," our members have invested countless hours in refining their skills, perfecting every note, movement, and expression to deliver an outstanding performance. The support of friends and family at the event highlights the dedication and hard work of our members. Throughout this journey, the unwavering encouragement and camaraderie among our members have strengthened the bond within the ensemble, making it feel truly like a family.
Our Indian Dance group is dedicated to fostering a deep love for dance while encouraging an appreciation of Indian cultural heritage and the diverse forms of Indian dance. This year, our passionate dancers showcased their talents across multiple platforms, both within the school and externally. At school, they performed a vibrant traditional folk dance during the Pongal Festival and presented a classical Bharathanatyam dance during a school exchange programme.
Fueled by their passion, our dancers also participated in AEC 2024 – Extraordinary People, collaborating with students from Tanglin School in an energetic performance titled Harmonic Beats. Additionally, they took the stage at the biennial PassionArts event, continuing to share their love for dance with the wider community.
The Northland Malay Dancers have consistently demonstrated respect for the discipline of dance, responsibility in perfecting their moves, and resilience in their pursuit of excellence. This year has been particularly eventful, with a full schedule of performances that kept our dancers engaged from the start of January. They kicked off the year by welcoming the Secondary One students at the CCA Exhibition Day and will continue performing until mid-November, culminating in one of the school’s most eagerly awaited events – PassionArts 2024!
We are fortunate to have had numerous opportunities to not only showcase our talents but also refine our skills and strengthen the bonds within our team. Each performance has served as a platform for growth, both artistically and personally, allowing our dancers to shine and solidify their camaraderie throughout the year.
The Multi-Cultural Artiste Club (MCAC) is a vibrant dance group for students with a passion for street dance and hip-hop. Through dance, our students develop confidence, stage presence, and self-expression, making it a powerful platform for personal growth. Our training sessions challenge students to step outside their comfort zones, encouraging them to master various dance techniques and explore new ways to express themselves.
In March 2024, our dancers had the honour of performing the opening act for the FIBA Asia Cup at the OCBC Arena. They have also actively showcased their talents at numerous school events, including the Chinese New Year concert, Harmonic Beats 2024, the Lutheran Secondary Visit from Hong Kong, Teachers' Day, and PassionArts 2024. Many of these performances were self-choreographed and led by our talented dance leaders, highlighting their creativity and leadership skills.
