The Video Production Competition challenged teams of three to five students to create an educational video that raises awareness of one of the conference sub-themes. Entries were required to communicate their chosen issue meaningfully and creatively within a five-minute video.

Teams were assessed on the relevance and organisation of their content, creativity and originality, presentation, editing and composition, as well as the overall meaningfulness of their message. All content had to be created without the use of AI-generated material.

Beyond the Blemish explores the paradox of food abundance and hunger by looking at the food we overlook, reject and waste. Beginning with something as simple as choosing between a blemished and a visually perfect fruit, the video examines how our everyday expectations and choices contribute to food waste.
Beyond the Blemish explores the paradox of food abundance and hunger by looking at the food we overlook, reject and waste. Beginning with something as simple as choosing between a blemished and a visually perfect fruit, the video examines how our everyday expectations and choices contribute to food waste.
Bringing the issue closer to home, our students explore food waste in the Singapore context through observations and conversations within the community. The video highlights how reducing food waste requires action across the food system—from businesses and policies to the everyday choices made by individuals.
