What opportunities are there for me to develop interest or skills in STEAM?
This page will cover opportunities offered both in Singapore and online. Please take note that while the list may be extensive, it does not cover all opportunities offered and if you cannot find anything related to your field of interest under STEM/STEAM, or would like to contribute to the list, please {}
Legend
Short term - 5 days and below
Long term - 1 week and above
Education - Anything short term or low effort resource relating to simply learning about the topic
Courses - Anything long term or high intensity relating to learning about the topic (usually with certificate)
Competitions - Compete with others on the topic, where winners are usually given recognition and awards.
Internships - Interning at companies, both short and long term
Scholarships - Receive funding, both full or partial, from companies, schools, or government for higher schooling
Programmes - Long-term activities that offer large enrichment capabilities at the cost of constant dedication
Hackerthons - Engineering events where participants group up and collaborate to create projects to achieve a specified goal. This is usually done in a short period of time, such as 24h or 48h
Olympiads - prestegious national competition, where top performers selected for international. Schools select / ask for students to apply at the start or end of the year
MUN - Model United Nations, where you basically role play as a nation and discuss a solution with others for global problems ranging from rights to crisis. Applications are usually a few months before, either via Instagram or website
$ - Pays money to exceptional performers / paid internship
* - Costs money to enter(ask your school to sponsor)
(CERT) - Provides free certificate at completion
(Part) - Participation awards
(P) / (O) - Whether programme is physical (P) or online (O)
! - Skill level, where 0=No experience, 1=Novice, 2=intermediate, 3=Professional
^ - Prestigious and will generally look good on portfolio if completed / do well in
_ - Will not do much for portfolio but will be good for learning
P.S. Just because options are unlabled doesn't mean they don't have these, the site is still a WIP so a lot aren't labled properly.

^Youth Action Challenge - A 6 month programme where participants group up and create start-ups to solve a selected topic problem. Large amount of networking opportunities and learn a lot about entrepreneurship. Pitch to a panel at the end of 6 months, where successful groups get either 10k or 50k to launch their start-ups.
