There isn't on/off button for stylus. Once you've inserted the battery, it's good to go.

Hold it like a pen and use it to tap links on the screen, write on the screen or to scroll the pages.

Nope! It works for any app, programmes and web browser.

I've no idea too. Do let me know if you ever find out as I've been curious about those.

The battery is probably is dead or malfunctioned.... because you have not used it for almost a year, ever since we collected the HP SSOE laptop tablet =P

The good news: It needs only 1 battery. Buy new batteries and it's good to go.

The bad news: The battery is VERY RARE. It's AAAA (No, i'm not confused that's triple-A. You see it right- it's 4A. yes, there is such a thing.)
How rare? You definitely cannot find it at regular shops selling regular batteries. When the battery died for my stylus last year due to frequent use, I went around ALOT of IT/ electronic shops in Tamp and Bedok for a week, before I finally found them at Harvey Norman (Bedok Point). It is so rare that even when I asked from staff at Harvey Norman for AAAA battery she corrected me "Triple A isit?". If this happens to you, be firm and insist it's AAAA.

Not so bad news: I have extras and you can buy it from me and the price I bought it for :) (I am not a hoarder, but don't ask why I have extras. HAHA!)

Spare tips are provided in the package. Look for the plastic case packaging that the stylus came in and there's a small plastic bag that contains the spare tips. Simply insert the tip in the stylus.

Yes, you can. But it may not be steady or accurate. Stylus gives accuracy and it's fine strokes.
