Other Related Information

1. How large is the student cohort in CTSS?

CTSS student population is about 1100-1200.

2. How does CTSS decide on the placement of the students in each class?

CTSS groups our students using a CCA-House model. Five CCAs are grouped into a House. The 20 CCAs in CTSS are thus organised into four Houses.

When students join us at Sec 1, they will be placed in a mixed stream form class that comprises students from his/her CCA as well as four other CCAs. Sec 1 students thus learn academic subjects with fellow CCA mates and continue the interaction during CCA sessions. This approach of allocation has been effective in terms of fostering students’ sense of belonging in their CCA and school due to increased contact time during learning as well as CCA sessions. They therefore have significant opportunities to develop deep friendships.

3. How many students are there in one class?

There are between 35 to 42 students in each class.

4. What are the numbers of Express, Normal Academic (NA) and Normal Technical (NT) classes for last year and the year before?

The number of classes has been stable over the past few years. CTSS is usually posted four Express, two Normal (Academic) and one Normal (Technical) class.

5. If my child's score is between Express and Normal (Academic), can he go to the Express stream?

If your child’s PSLE results are within the Express/NA course option band, your child can choose the Express or the Normal (Academic) course during the Sec 1 Option Exercise. Do refer to the information booklet provided by your child’s Primary School for details.

7. I understand that the P6 students are not required to report to school the next day after Secondary 1 posting. How will we be able to find the information about school opening, purchase of school uniform and books? Will there be a scheduled day when we are able to do so? When can we go to school to purchase the Sec 1 uniform and books? Where can we find/retrieve the Sec 1 booklist?

Upon the release of Sec 1 Posting results, please visit our school website for information on the online Sec 1 Registration programme as well as information on purchase of school uniforms and books.
