Problem: Difficulty to determine the current stock.
Each matriculation college is equipped with a kedai koperasi. Students can live life on campus comfortably. Various necessities are sold here, ranging from stationery to the need for washing clothes and personal care. What is a problem is that there are urgent necessities or critical necessities which cannot be obtained in the kedai koperasi. This happens when the quantity of stock is insufficient, the goods arrive late from the supplier and the goods have run out and are not refilled within a long time. This problem often occurs because the cashier or kedai koperasi operator is not aware that the goods have run out of stock and cause shortage of supply. Therefore, a systematic way needs to be developed to trigger the operator that an item needs to be restocked as soon as possible or increase the quantity due to current demand.
Problem: Handling of stocks, ordering and point of sale systems.
Mesra Mart is a grocery shop that sells all groceries needs. The grocery shop was started as a family business in 2018. Their first store was opened in Banting, Selangor. Until now they have 5 branches around Selangor. However, since the business started, they don’t have any Information System that handles their inventories, stocks and point of sale. For stock and order activities, it is done using a small stand-alone system such a Store Keeper’s System with a minimal function using a simple DBMS application program. Meanwhile, at the point of sale, the calculation is done manually or using a calculation machine by entering the price of goods and finding the total. As their business grows, their Managing Director, Mr. Akmal, thinks of having an automated Information System that can improve and upgrade their business to be more efficient. To realize this, Mesra Mart management refers to the Defcon Solutions, an IT company to help them. Mr. Hakeem, a System Analyst in the company was hired and given a task to handle this project. The Information System will have to automate all the necessary functions within a certain budget.
