"More Than Just a Product: My First Impressions of PBL and AI"
To me, Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a way of teaching where students learn by actually doing things. Instead of just listening to me talk, students work on a project to solve a problem or answer a big question. It helps them use their creativity and think more deeply about what they are learning in English class.
Yes, I have used PBL in my classes with digital tools. Here are a few things I’ve done:
Canva Posters: After we read or shared a story in class, I asked my pupils to create posters on Canva. This helped them show their understanding of the story in a creative way.
Short Videos: My students also produced short videos based on the topics we studied.
Google Classroom: We used Google Classroom to share these videos and posters, so everyone could see each other's work.
AI Tools: I also attended an AI course recently. Now, I know how to use AI to help me plan my projects faster. I can also use AI to help my students get ideas for their scripts or to help them find the right words when they are stuck.
I feel very happy and excited about using PBL. I love seeing my students get excited about their work. When they use tools like Canva or make videos, they are much more interested in the lesson than when they just use a textbook. Even though it takes more work to plan, having digital skills and knowing how to use AI makes it much easier for me. I am looking forward to learning more tips in this course!
