Before Mentor Academy Begins
Mentors-in-Training (MITs) will:
★ Receive a welcome email containing getting started information, including a Moodle course platform self-enroll link, approximately week prior to the start date.
★ Be paired with a trained Expert Mentor who will support the Mentor Academy experience.
Learn by Doing
Learn by Doing
Mentors-in-Training (MITs) will complete modules to:
★ Learn start of mentorship procedures and how to schedule their first Coaching Call.
★ Explore various mentee submission examples and discover MCPs procedures for giving feedback, and provide detailed feedback on an example unit plan.
★ Practice supporting mentee challenges, what happens when the Mentorship Program ends, and "close out" a mentee.
★ Complete Expert Mentor onboarding steps while actively enrolled in Mentor Academy.
Mentor Academy is a blended, self-paced, and mastery-based experience.

Wrapping Up Mentor Academy
Mentors-in-Training (MITs) will:
★ Confirm onboarding requirements are met before exiting Mentor Academy.
★ Set up a Modern Classroom email account.
★ Set up a required Acuity calendar account.
★ Connect with MCP staff as they transition to active mentoring.
★ Learn about ongoing mentor learning and how to maintain eligibility requirements.
