“Unity is strength… when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.” - Mattie Stepanek
It is great to have all our Camels Hump Middle School students back in school. We’ve had a wonderful first seven days. Students transitioned well to new schedules, new team groups, and some new teachers and classmates. They've been reconnecting with peers and making new connections. The energy has been super positive, kind and welcoming.
We’ve started fall athletic practices for girls' soccer, boys' soccer, field hockey, and cross country. Participation is high, and students are enjoying sharing their passions with others. In addition, we have a new fall club session starting soon. The club sign-up information and form was sent out earlier this week. There are many choices and we hope our Mountaineers sign up for one or more clubs.
Next week, we will have our first early release Wednesday. All CHMS students will be dismissed at 12:45 p.m. If your student anticipates having a different afternoon plan compared to full school days, please be sure to communicate this information with our main office (802-434-2188). Also next week, we also have our first athletic games. The school year is moving right along!
We wish everyone a relaxing weekend.

We want to share that there is a recent TikTok trend that has spread into many schools across the country including schools within the MMUU school district. The focus of the Tik Tok videos is the destroying of Chromebooks. We have started to see damage to devices due to students putting metal, pencils and other objects in their usb ports to try to catch them on fire. This Tik Tok challenge is described in this news article. This is also a serious safety concern. The smoke that is produced from tampering with ChromeBooks is highly toxic and very harmful. Willful damage to our devices cannot be repaired under our warranties. Any willful damages will be billed to families as noted in the school handbook. Students who engage in this type of activity will lose their ability to use a Chromebook at school for a period of time. We are asking families, in collaboration with the school, to speak to their students about the dangers and consequences of this challenge.
District guidelines remain in place - If you are sick, please stay home. If your child requires cold medicine, ibuprofen, or acetaminophen for an illness, they are not well enough to attend school.
Please keep them at home. Please read this link District Illness Guidelines
