CAMELS HUMP MIDDLE SCHOOL MOUNTAINEERS
“With a fast-paced world and wanting to reach and accomplish goals,
sometimes we neglect to pause and just enjoy the moment.” - Paul Millsap
We’ve wrapped up our first full week of school, and what a busy and exciting week it’s been! From sporting events to our annual Open House, there’s been a lot going on. It was truly wonderful to see so many families in the building—meeting teachers, exploring classrooms, and getting a feel for students’ daily routines. Thank you for joining us! If you weren’t able to attend, don’t worry—there will be another chance to connect with teachers during fall conferences. Team teachers will be sharing more details in the coming weeks.
Looking ahead, our first session of after-school clubs kicks off next week! Clubs run from 2:50–3:30 pm or until students' buses arrive. If you’re picking up your student, please arrive by 3:30 pm. For more information, you can check the After School Schedule in the newsletter menu or contact the school directly with any questions, 802-434-2188.
It’s hard to believe we’re already approaching the end of September! Students have been doing a fantastic job settling into routines. Just a quick reminder: our Lost and Found is already filling up with items like sweatshirts, water bottles, and even shoes! Please encourage your student to take a quick look if they’re missing anything.
Wishing you all a safe and relaxing weekend!

We want to share that there is a recent TikTok trend that has spread into many schools across the country including schools within the MMUU school district. The focus of the Tik Tok videos is the destroying of Chromebooks. We have started to see damage to devices due to students putting metal, pencils and other objects in their usb ports to try to catch them on fire. This Tik Tok challenge is described in this news article. This is also a serious safety concern. The smoke that is produced from tampering with ChromeBooks is highly toxic and very harmful. Willful damage to our devices cannot be repaired under our warranties. Any willful damages will be billed to families as noted in the school handbook. Students who engage in this type of activity will lose their ability to use a Chromebook at school for a period of time. We are asking families, in collaboration with the school, to speak to their students about the dangers and consequences of this challenge.
District guidelines remain in place - If you are sick, please stay home. If your child requires cold medicine, ibuprofen, or acetaminophen for an illness, they are not well enough to attend school. Please keep them at home. Please read this link District Illness Guidelines
