LANGUAGE

Language and writing are the targeted goals for period 3. Wonders curriculum and tools will also be used with these subjects. In addition to Wonders I have supplemental resources that I use to break down the writing process into simpler steps. We start with writing a solid paragraph and by the end of the year they are writing minimum of 5 paragraphs essays in the following areas: Personal narrative (their own story), Informational Writing (expository), and Argumentative/Opinion writing. I will also be assigning an adventure/creative writing piece as well as autobiographical sketch. Currently we are writing about our favorite restaurant. This is a fun assignment because I mail the papers to each restaurant hoping to get a response from our local businesses.
