English Garden House Design. This house was designed with an English garden in mind. There is a lot of colorful vegetation in this design and the backyard was designed with the intent of having ducks back there. There is a house for them and a large pond for them to swim in. There are paths for people to meander and enjoy all the plants and being in nature. There is also a greenhouse and vegetable garden for people to grow different kinds of plants. I also included a large patio for any partys or eating that anyone would want to do outside.

Planting for a Colonial Home. The site is located around North Salem, Massachusetts, USA. This historic neighborhood is in the top 20% priciest in the country and is rich with colonial history. Most homes were built in Georgian, Federal, Cape Cod, and other colonial styles. The clients are a couple in their 50’s, with older children set to leave the nest in the coming years. They wish for a design reminiscent of the neighborhood’s colonial history. They have asked for space to exercise in comfort as they age, as well as a secluded space for contemplation.

Rural Ohio Living. The site is located in rural Barnesville, Belmont County, Ohio. It is located in Zone 6. The property features a newly built house in the Minimal Tradition style. The property was farmland in its past, and a large amount of forested land remains on the property. The site, being in the broader Appalachia region, sits on a steep slope that offers a wide view of the landscape. The property is owned by a middle-aged couple who plan to retire at the location. Two children of the couple attend college and will semi-regularly visit the site during breaks. There is a desire by the couple to have a large amount of open grassy area as well as spaces to enjoy outdoor relxation for possible guests. A reasonable amount of privacy is desired on the property.
