Summer 1
In this lesson, we looked at conditions. I know a condition is something which is either true/false or yes/no like Is the Mission Grove uniform colour red?
We also looked at time controlled loops, how they can stop and start things like to play a song UNTIL a certain time or moment.

For film week this year, Year 5 are basing their films around the book, 'Here We Are' and focusing on mental health for Mental Health Week.
This book is Oliver Jeffers user's guide to life on Earth.
Take a look for yourself!

First, we brainstormed all the different ideas that the book taught us as well as what themes we think it touched on like kindness, respect.
Then we added film ideas on to the different themes using purple pen.

Then we created our own storyboards which we later showed the rest of our group.
My story theme is 'Gratitude' and it's about an alien who has a magical plant to give to astronaut for his birthday however, his friend, the astronaut is not very appreciative of this gift. So, the astronaut and alien go through phases of learning how to be appreciative and grateful for all things on earth and each-other.

Next step was to start filming (the best part)
We made sure we all knew our lines, rehearsed well, and everyone had a part to play in.
We used different camera angles, different setting if needed to make the story come to life and make it more like a film.
In my group we used the angles of panning, close up and over shoulder angles. It was a lot of fun.

Last step was to edit. We used iMovie to help us to edit. We added special effects, sound effects, credits and title to make our film more film like.
The most challenging part of this is making sure everyone agrees, trimming the videos and making smooth transistions.
