For additional information, feel free to reach out to the Career and Technical Education Department at 956-323-5508.
Our CTE department has continually strived to maintain the latest technical equipment being used in business and industry. Although thousands of dollars are needed to upgrade and maintain this equipment, it provides our CTE students with increased opportunities to apply hands-on skills and training they can then use in the workplace. Each student can select any of our 28 programs of study based on their career interest.

CTE students take what has been learned in the classroom out to training sites in Mission and surrounding cities. Practicum and Cooperative education classes provide an in-depth study of concepts and skills that enable an employee to successfully function in the workplace.
Skilled technical labor is today’s biggest job market. Currently, over 60% of our nation’s workforce is skilled technical labor, 20% professionals, and 20% unskilled labor.
Vocational Student Organizations help students develop leadership skills and positive work values while reinforcing the CTE curriculum. Seven national organizations serve more than 600 students at Mission High School, Veterans Memorial High School, and Mission Collegiate High School.
Mission CISD has partnered with South Texas College to offer a 1-year intensive training program for approved students that allows them to graduate with a certificate at the college before they graduate from high school.
