"Winter: the vital rooting gestation. Once the seeds have been planted, there is not much else for the cultivator to do. Winter is essentially a time of waiting, of darkness, of silence and most important, of gestation. It is imperative to stop the activity of autumn, so the planted seeds can do their own autonomous work: splitting open, rooting in the soil, and getting feed by earth's essential nutrients"

Over the weekend, our expertly curated schedule explores movement, body, mindfulness, and nature in an immersive and creative way - accessible for those who may be new to these experiences.
Our starting point is that we are all "creators". Through multi-modal engagement with the senses, we have all we need to experience and express our creative selves in the world (but sometimes need a helping hand and the right environment to access this).
Winter is a particular time inviting us to ground, root and do the work that will make it possible to fly in the spring. Following the ethos of Chinese medicine, our practices will explore the organs and elements associated with winter - brain, kidneys, phlegm, water and the direction of North.
We do this in the beautiful natural environment of The Fintry Trust, an educational charity dedicated to the study and teaching of ideal philosophy, science, art and religion.
"It was a beautiful and freeing experience- and I so appreciate the hard work and planning that went into it to make it such a glorious experience for me and am sure for others too -- thank you is not enough. Sooo healing. I have so many threads I want to explore now too - more artwork (how to make beautiful scrolls for starters (!) calligraphy with paint, foot and hand massage techniques and my own vegetarian cooking). Tamara and Trudi truly rock - a fabulous double act."
Jo, a participant in our Do Less Be More Creative 2021 Retreat.
