Pho Pasteur:
Pho Pasteur, which opened in 2017, serves a variety of Vietnamese foods, particularly Pho (pronounced fuh), a steaming noodle soup with a rich broth commonly made with beef. Another popular dish is the cold vegetable spring rolls served with chili sauce. The owner/manager, an immigrant from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, came to the US in 1989 with his family. He fluently speaks Vietnamese and French, as well as a little bit of English. Later during his adulthood, he moved to Massachusetts and recently took the job as manager of Pho Pasteur.
During the pandemic, Pho Pasteur struggled with business due to health and safety restrictions. They only offered takeout, limiting their business revenue and whatnot. Still, he enjoys working at the restaurant and watching customers enjoy their food.
When asked about anti-Asian violence in the US, he promptly remarked no, saying that here in Quincy Asians don't really face targeted violence. Although it's really dangerous in New York or even some places in Chinatown, Quincy is pretty safe. His sentiment echoed a lot of what the other Asian business owners in Quincy expressed.
Inside of the restaurant. We came in at around 3 on a Wednesday, so there wasn't as much business.
