A fantastic site with access to free electronic books!
Keep your child up to date with what is happeneing in the world. Newsround is updated daily with current afairs written for children. There is a mixture of articles to read and ones to listen to. There are quizzes and games that hav an educational value to them too.
Scholastic is an educational publisher who has organised a series of lessons and activities for children to do at home.
Getepic (Epic Books)
Epic Books is an online (library of around 35,000 quality books. There are fiction books as well as non-fiction, comic strips and videos. There are also quizzes to accompany the stories. It is also available as an app from the Chromebook Playstore!
BBC Bitesized Spelling and Grammar
This contains entertaining video clips, word lists and teaching to help children understand when to use different spellings. It is useful, to ask you child to also write down the words as they are more likely to be remembered and spelled correctly if they are handwritten. There aren’t any tasks for them to do, but they will help to reinforce spelling paterns, grammar and punctuation.
