Although the projects will be completed in the classroom, Students who are interested in obtaining the STEM Honors Recognition Certificate MUST participate in the school-level STEM Fair in order to earn the elective credit for the STEM Capstone/STEM Senior Project.
These requirements can be completed in any grade level (it is not limited to the Senior Year).
Students may be able to earn the STEM Honors certificate through other school-sponsored projects such as Robotics, VEX, and select extra-curricular projects that are advised by MHS teachers. External projects must be approved by the Science Learning Center if it is to be used to meet the STEM Capstone requirements. Students must still participate in the school level Science Fair. Please check with your teacher or club advisor if you are interested in doing a STEM project outside of your Science class.
If you are interested in completing this STEM Honors certificate, please see Dr. Sitachitta, Mr. Kikugawa, or Mr. Vaughs. Once your intended project is approved by the Science Learning Center, you will be enrolled in a Google Classroom where you can upload your required assignments. If you are using an external or previous project (approved by the Science Learning Center), you can upload your graded documents to the google classroom.
