DAILY OPERATION
School Hours, 2023-24
Students and staff report to school, in-person, and for a full day of instruction. Should public health factors require a modification to the school district operating schedule, communications and additional direction will be distributed to our community. We ask you to always have contingency plans in place and be mindful of the communications that are sent to you from district and school administrators.
Elementary
8:40 a.m. - 3:25 p.m.
Middle
8:00 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.
High
7:20 a.m. - 1:58 p.m.
The Academy
8:00 a.m. - 1:05 p.m.
Cancellations/Delays/Early Dismissals
The Milford Public Schools uses a variety of tools to disseminate information regarding any unforeseen changes in the daily schedule. Notice of a change in the school day (e.g. snow or other type of inclement weather, or any other building emergencies requiring a change) will be communicated via:

The decision to alter/cancel the school day is made when the health and/or safety of students and staff is in jeopardy. In the event of serious inclement weather, information is provided to us by the Milford Police Dept., the Milford Public Works Dept., and the MPS Facilities team.
Please do NOT call the school in the event a school day needs to be altered. Communications will be sent directly to you with information and additional direction.
Announcement Times
6:15 a.m.: Delay or Cancellation. The decision is made no later than 6:15 a.m. to delay opening or to cancel school. Communications are sent to families/staff immediately following the decision.
11:00 a.m.: Early Dismissal. If an early dismissal has been called for, the announcement will be sent to families/staff no later than 11:00 a.m.
Bus Pick-Up Schedule During a School Delay
In the case of a delay in the morning, buses will pick up students 2 hours later than their regular pick up times. Dismissal is as normal.
