Transitions 2025

As we enter into the summer term we will be turning our attention to the transitions of our children and young people.  

We will be rolling out the Mid Mouse Project again this year and are looking for more mice! The principles behind the project and most of the information is the same. The following information about the project is attached:

• Mid Mouse information leaflet for the community with mouse knitting/crochet patterns (changes due to new drop off points, but the knitting patterns are still the same –please share widely)

• Mid Mouse information leaflet for settings

• Mid Mouse parent/carer leaflet (same as previous years)– please share this with the families of children starting school in August/in your P1 welcome packs

• Transitions story learning experiences for the same stories as last year:

• Elmer

• We’re Going on a Bear Hunt

• Giraffes Can’t Dance

• The Worrysaurus

• There’s a Bear on my Chair

• The Lion Inside (bridging story to read with children in ELC and when children start in P1)

Please note that there are two drop off points for completed mice this year:LASC at The Link in Loanhead or any Midlothian Library. We would like to thank the teams at the drop off points for their help and support with this. We would be very grateful if you can share the knitting/crochet patterns widely, along with the information about drop off points (e.g. ELC websites, social media etc.) and encourage members of your school/setting community to take part.
