Thomas Jefferson was born on April 13, 1743 on a plantation in Shadwell, Virginia. In 1762 to Peter Jefferson and Jane Randolph Jefferson. Thomas was the Third of ten kids marking himself as one of the oldest in his family.

Thomas Jefferson was the 3rd president of the United States of America.
He wrote part of the Declaration Of Independence from the eleventh to the 28th of June in the year 1776.
He invented the swivel chair.
He was the first secretary of state

He wrote it within seventeen days taking the time in between meetings and other governmental affairs.
He of course was not the only one who wrote it there was help from John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Robert R. Livingston, and Roger Sherman.
Thomas Jefferson was a very important part of the Louisiana purchase. Jefferson instructed the American minister in Paris to try to buy the city of New Orleans and Florida territories for which congress appropriated $2 million.
Thomas jefferson's father, peter jefferson was a planter cartographer and politician he eventually died when his son was only 14. Then his mom who was a housewife died when she was 56. then after college thomas jefferson made a family. his wife was Martha Skelton Jefferson and they had six kids one boy and five girls. Jefferson's wife died ten years after they had been married but jefferson never ended up remarrying. Jefferson died from pneumonia july 4th, 1826.
Thomas Jefferson sold his 6,700 volume personal library to congress for $23,950 to replace books lost when the british burned the U.S Capitol.
