John Adams was the 1st vice president and the 2nd president of the United States
While Adams was president, he did some good things and did some bad. He became president but created the Alien Sedition acts. One good thing Adams did while he was president was creating the XYZ Affair. He sent 3 secret spies over seas to create peace and avoid war.
Before John Adams became president he was a lawyer from Harvard. Adams charged the solgiers who were accused of the murder of five people in the Boston massacer, and made sure there was a fair trial. He also served as a diplomat in Europe, and helped them negotiate the Treaty of Paris.
John Adams died on July 4th, 1826. He lived to be 90 years old and died on the Declaration of Independence 50th anniversary. This was the same day that Thomas Jefferson died. Before Adams passed away he said " At least Jefferson survives" but Jefferson passed away a couple hours earlier.
Some things that Adams did while he was president that did not turn out as planned was, The Alien Sedation acts. Which made immigrants have less rights than people born there. Also if you did not agree you could not speak out, which did not follow the Constitution.
Adams was one of the most influential members of the American Revolution. He met George Washington while serving as delegates of the 1st Continental Congress
John Adams home was in Peace Field, Massachusetts.
