The War of 1812 was nicknamed "Mr. Madison's war:" as many of the states did not want to be involved
James Madison had many accomplishments, such as drafting the Bill of Rights, helping with the writing of the Federalist Papers, and being the fourth president of the United States. He was very close friends with Thomas Jefferson, and served as his secretary of state during Jefferson's presidency. Madison Also oversaw the Louisiana Purchase.

Dolly Madison was James Madison's wife. She was a widow when she married James Madison on September 15, 1794. Dolley is most known for her brave act when she stayed behind at the white house to try and save as many valuable things as possible. The most famous of these things saved was an eight-foot portrait of George Washington, which still stands today.
