The Life of John Jay began December 12, 1745. He grew up in New york By Rye, coming from a very wealthy merchant family. He graduated Kings College in 1764 beginning career as a lawyer. John Jay married Sarah Livingston Jay in 1774 April 28th in liberty hall.
