Beginning of Class Routine
Before class starts, gather the materials you'll need: pen(cil)s, notebook, charger, laptop/tablet, highlighters, ruler, etc.
Once you enter into Zoom, you will have 1 minute to get yourself settled and ready for class (make sure your camera is turned on!) - you are expected to be present and engaged just like when we are in school together.
You will then have 5 minutes to work independently on the warm-up while on mute.
After the silent warm-up,
Taking Care of Your Needs
Just like in school, attendance is being taken, but I also know you may have unavoidable reasons to leave the class for a quick moment. Please send a message (to just me in) the chat to let me know you are leaving the virtual class for a short time, so I don't call on you or assign you a role that you can't perform in that moment.
Homework
Assignments are given almost every class. These assignments are designed to be worked on during our 2.5 hour class block if time is used well. Assignments will be checked or collected each time they are assigned and must be turned in by the date that they are due (that information will be in GC).
Assessments
All assignments will be graded and must be turned in on time. If you miss a deadline for a part of a project, you will not receive feedback on that part. If at any point you struggle to meet deadlines, ask M. Kleinbart for help creating a work calendar.
Absences
If you are absent, you should email M. Kleinbart to find out what you missed. If you are unable to do that, you are responsible for checking in with the teachers about the work you missed. Do not do this during class; email before or after class, or drop into virtual office hours
Jumprope
Jumprope is where all your grades for assignments will live. I will do my best to update it at least once every 2 weeks with any graded work that was submitted.
