Directions
This is a "floating" project. You work on this project as soon as you get a chance and complete this project before going back to the project you stopped working on.
Step 1: Choose the book you are going to read.
Step 2: Voice Recording in Booth
Record your voice in the sound booth. Using Mixcraft with the following setup:
PROJECT SETTINGS: Instrument tracks "0", Audio Tracks "2", Snap Setting "OFF", Mode "TIME"
If you make a mistake, stop reading for 3 seconds and then start reading again. When done reading the book, save the project to your PIANO FOLDER.
Close MIXCRAFT and go back to your seat
Step 3: Editing your voice to remove mistakes
Open the voice recording. Highlight an area that you made a mistake and paused for 3 seconds
(Delete the pause and also the sentence that you made a mistake on by clicking "DELETE" on the computer).
Move the sound from the right towards the left to get rid of the space and see how it sounds.
Adjust the spacing as needed to make the speaking sound natural.
Step 4: Adding Sound Effects (1 sound effect for every 2 pages read)
Place a sound effect onto the 2nd audio track using the sound effects from the library.
If you want to use the keyboard for an effect, click on the (+ Track) above track 1 and choose "Insert Virtual Instrument". Then drag it to the bottom.
Step 5: Turn the final project into an MP3 file.
Select "FILE", "MIX DOWN TO", MP3.
Step 6: Go back the the project you were working on before you started your voice over.
