8th 6 Movie Trailer Project

This is at least a 90 second "song" (many trailers are 2:00 minutes or longer).

We will be using one of the trailers below for your project.    The music you make will use at least 4 tracks. At least two of the tracks must be a "Virtual Instrument" track.

Select one of the videos below (none have sound right now) to download into your seat folder.  To do this, expand the video by selecting the "Pop out" on the top right of the video.  On the next screen, select the "download" feature located towards the top right of the screen (looks like an arrow pointing down to a line).  The next page will say that Google can't scan the file because the file is too large, click "Download Anyway".  As long as your settings were set to ask where to save each download, it should show up as a pop-up allowing you to select your piano folder to save it to.

Saving the Movie Trailer

Open the video you want to use by clicking on the top right to expand it.

Importing Trailer into Mixcraft

Select "Video" and choose "Add a Video File"

Go to your folder and select your downloaded video.

Music

1) You will be making at least 1 track of music on the piano (or your choice of instrument).  The other music can come from the library.

2) Choose music from the library and place them into the Performance panel like we did on the MIDI PAD project.

3) Right click to make each panel a "ONE SHOT" under the Trigger Mode

4) Assign each sound to a MIDI Pad by select the MDID LEARN button.

5) You will then record the music

Try to make your music to be  the exact length of your trailer.  Different parts of the trailer may have different types of music (happy, chase scene, scary, etc...)  It should help to portray the type of movie you are going to get people to come see.

Sound Production

You will add at least 10 different sound effects to your music video.  They can all be put onto the same track.  The important part is the timing of these with the video.

Finishing your project so it can be graded (convert to WMV)

After you have made your trailer you must convert it to a WMV file so it can be seen and heard by me to grade.

Select "file", "Mix Down to", and choose "WMV".  Save it to your piano folder.

You are now done.
