7th Improvisation Intro

Someone approaches you on the street and says they are looking for a musician to play an improvised solo for them... obviously you don't really know how to play an improvised solo, but you really need the money.

It's time to do some research on what an improvised solo is like. Watch each of these videos and decide what you like/don't like about them. Are they playing a lot of notes? Is it slower?  Do you prefer one person's playing over another?

These are all amazing musicians that know what they are doing, so how can you start to sound like them? For this project, you will be using something called the pentatonic scale for your solo. The pentatonic scale (penta = 5, tonic = notes) will sound really good over basically anything you play. Here is an example of me back in March playing a solo based on the pentatonic scale you will be using in your project.
