Mathematics

This year we are utilizing Savaas Realize 2.0.  Throughout the year we will teach the following skills: Estimating/Place Value, Rounding, Addition/Subtraction, Fractions, Problem Solving, Time, Measurement/Graphing, Geometry/Shapes, MULTIPLICATION and DIVISION (Students will be assessed through online assessments) We will additionally use the website IXL to assist mastering various skills throughout the year. 

Typical Schedule of Math Lesson in Class

• Review of previous lesson/homework

• Introduction to the new lesson using the Smartboard/Document Camera; Visual Video; use of the workbook; 15-20 minutes of guided practice 

• Independent differentiated practice, according to student needs). 

• Center Rotations/Cooperative Group Work

• Extra help is given to those students who need it.

• All students will receive Enrichment math reinforcements and work on them if they finish their assignments early.
