The General Business Pathway provides students the opportunity to explore and prepare for a future in business. They will build a strong foundation of skills needed to be successful in several business majors after graduation.

There are a variety of colleges, universities, and technical schools that offer degrees and training. Click on a major below to see some options in this region.
Course introducing the field of business including topics such as management, finance, accounting, marketing and other areas of general business.
Personal Finance
Students will learn to plan their own personal finances. They will create goals, track their income and spending, develop personal budgets, understand the cost of using credit and study the different types of insurance options for consumers.
Semester course
Computer Applications 1 & 2
These courses will focus on Microsoft Word, Excel, and a variety of web based applications. The focus is on word processing, spreadsheets, and integrated projects. Both courses are available as an accelerated course.
Business Management
Students will receive in introduction to management concepts, theory, and practice. They will also study how to recognize how to start a business, operate and maintain the business.
Law and the Legal System
This course will study law as it relates to individuals, consumers and business world participants. Field Trips, mock trials and the use of audio visual aids will be used in exploring various legal areas.
Personalized Learning Experience
Platt High School now offers Personalized Learning Experiences (PLE) which allow students to customize their educational program to pursue areas of interest or investigate a career outside of the traditional classroom setting. Students will work with a staff member to design a program with measurable learning objectives and must demonstrate mastery of the program components.
