Artist Statement: Most of my works are centered around the ethereal and fragile beauty of flowers and their unique meanings— as well as the significance of flowers throughout the most meaningful stages of life. No two flowers are the same or perfect; each and every one of them have some faults, and their individual beauty is determined by these flaws and imperfections. This is similar to how my own shortcomings define me, which is something that I have struggled with accepting while growing up. My portfolio consists of moments from both the lives of loved ones, such as the charcoal wedding portrait, and my own journey of maturing and finally accepting my faults, as demonstrated through the colored pencil self portrait.

Although I am proud of all my works, not all of them are tied to my theme. I believe that some of my unrelated pieces can more accurately show my artistic ability and demonstrate how my skills have grown over the course of my time in Fine Art.
