■ November is a month also filled with lots of holiday!

Eventhough Christmas is the famous holiday in the winter season, November also has fasinating holidays!Okinawa is an area has a close conection with the US soldiers, and this holiday is an important holiday for the US military.

■In the US November 11th is the Veterans Day(退役軍人の日） which is a fedral holiday, honoring the US Veterans. (which stans for Ex-US Military：退役軍人）and thanking them for their services.

Veterans Day, originally celebrated as Armistice Day, was first issued on November 11, 1919, by President Woodrow Wilson a year after the end of World War I. Later In 1945, World War II veteran Raymond Weeks from Birmingham, Alabama, had the idea to expand Armistice Day to celebrate all veterans, not just those who died in World War I. Weeks led a delegation to Gen. Dwight Eisenhower, who supported the idea of National Veterans Day.
