Operation Gratitude
Click pic above to learn more about sending "Thank you" letters to our military, law enforcement, and firefighters!
GRATITUDE IDEAS:
**We can have fun helping our moms, dads, brothers, and sisters and others with us! Take a piece of paper and cut it into sections. Create fun notes for people and hide them around the house to find!
*Helping others and saying kind things also makes our lives better! Scroll down to see what happens to YOU! How can you help today? What are some healthy choices you can make to be kind to yourself and others?
*Also, make a picture, or poster, or letter, then read it on a video, or send a picture of it to your teachers or anyone!
*Put an inspirational quote in your window for people to see! Put a heart in your window for others to find!
*Use the resources below under "You choose what you create" to make digital cards and letters to send! Nursing homes could use some love right now, too! Make some digital letters of encouragement and email them to friends and family and nursing homes near...or far!**
***Pick a person from the list BELOW (Scroll down!) and an activity...
or choose as many people as you know and want to thank!***
Remember, those who spread sunshine to others cannot keep it from themselves!
You choose what you create!
Or just take a picture of a letter you write or picture you make or something kind you are doing by yourself or with your family!!
For the following:
Print in black and white and then you decorate!
You could use crayons and markers, take a picture of what you made and send it!
OR do and save one of these to your computer and send via email or message!
Give Gratitude:
Thank You for the Dream You Sent Me
Once upon a time (1989), a little girl named Amy sent a bottle of colored water, oil and glitter to Roald Dahl, who knew right away that this was a dream in a bottle inspired by his book, The BFG. In response, the author penned this short note to his 7-year-old fan
Dear Amy,
I must write a special letter and thank you for the dream in the bottle. You are the first person in the world who has sent me one of these and it intrigued me very much. I also liked the dream. Tonight I shall go down to the village and blow it through the bedroom window of some sleeping child and see if it works.
With love from,
(Signed)
Roald Dahl
