By the end of Quarter 1:
I can identify music symbols: staff, bar line, double bar line, repeat sign, measure, Treble Clef, Bass Clef, time signature, parts of a note
I can name the Treble Clef line notes
I can sing the solfege scale ascending and descending from memory
I can sight read at least 4 measures of rhythm in 4/4 time using quarter, half and whole notes/rests
I can write the universal counting in 4/4 time for quarter, half and whole notes/rests
Learning Activities: sightreading rhythms; learn and review the solfege scale; sing warm ups to practice matching pitch and understand the importance of warming up; learn and polish songs for the Fall Concert.
Level 1 ASSESSMENTS must be passed no later than October 25th.
