What We Will Learn
Seventh grade history is a continuation of sixth grade world history. We have a brand new textbook to work with this year!

Grading
Skill Building/Practice Assignments
Practice assignments that are meant to review/build skills are typically graded based on students' effort and meeting the required criteria. Assignments that are submitted that do not meet the basic criteria will be returned for revision. The goal of these assignments are to provide an opportunity for your child refine their skills prior to evaluating their comprehension level.
New Textbooks!
MDUSD recently adopted a new textbook for History. This book comes with many online features such as a read aloud option, extra study material, interactive maps, a wealth of resources, and more! Each child will have an individual login to access all the material available and to complete reading and assignments. Please explore these incredible features with your child at home.
Assessments
Assessment grades indicate your child's comprehension of the 7th grade state standards. They reflect a child's mastery of the subject matter rather than effort.
Tests and projects will be graded on the following rubric:
4 (A)= Student demonstrates a knowledge of the standard that exceeds grade level expectations
3 (B) = Student demonstrates grade level mastery of the topic
2 (C) = Student is demonstrates some understanding of the concept
1 (D) = Student has been introduced to the concept and is beginning practice
0 (F) = no work was submitted and/or minimum requirements were not met
