COVID-19

Pacificon is committed to keeping our guests and staff as safe as we can during our convention. We will follow the recommendations and mandates from the Contra Costa County health officials that are in effect at the time of the convention. Currently, these officials strongly recommend full vaccination against COVID-19; and require that properly worn masks completely covering the nose and mouth be worn at all times when indoors with people not from your household. As such, the Marriott Hotel and Pacificon Committee will require that everyone attending Pacificon wear a mask while indoors. The hotel will gladly provide a mask for anyone that needs one. Anyone not wearing a mask will be asked to put one on. If our request is refused, the person will be asked to leave the premises. The science and worldwide experience show that the combination of vaccination and mask wearing lowers the risk of infection substantially. Please join us in keeping everyone safe, and thank you for your understanding.

Update:

The State of California has recently issued a new mandate, effective September 20, requiring that all public gatherings of 1,000 or more people verify that all attendees were either 1.) fully vaccinated at least two weeks prior to the event, or; 2.) had a negative result on a COVID test taken no more than 3 days prior to the event. Since Pacificon typically has over 1,000 in attendance, this mandate will most likely apply to us. We will continue to monitor the situation and post any updates here.

Our website host, Google has required us to convert our website from its old format to Google's new format. The new format includes a number of layout changes. We hope you like it.

COVID-19 Note:

Pacificon Family,

Outstanding news! Recently, the California governor announced his intention to fully open the state and remove most COVID-based restrictions on June 15, 2021. What restrictions that remain will not prevent us from having Pacificon. See this California Dept. of Public Health page for details on this announcement.

Of course, this reopening, and Pacificon's plans, are dependent upon continued success in our battle against COVID, so it's still possible things could change. The best way you can help ensure Pacificon is held this year is to get fully vaccinated as soon as you can. If you are not fully vaccinated, we will ask that you wear a mask that fully covers your mouth and nose at all times while you are in public areas.

In the meantime, Pacificon is Full Speed Ahead!!

COVID-19 Note:

Pacificon Family,

Well, the year 2020 is behind us, minus Pacificon, unfortunately. But we're looking forward to October, 2021. We hope and expect that the pandemic will have been brought under control by then, allowing us to hold Pacificon 2021 in person. We'll be working hard to make it the best one ever.
