Military & Academy Information

Are you interested in attending a military academy? Begin your research no later than sophomore year.

Applying to most Military Academies is more involved than applying to a typical college or university. There are my steps and important (early!) deadlines that you need to meet.

Additionally, you will need to apply for a nomination early in order to be accepted and appointed into the Academy! In most situations, you will be seeking a nomination from your member of Congress (Senator or Representative) or the Vice President.

Please make sure that you meet with your School Counselor early in the Spring of your Junior year to start planning out your journey!

The Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) is a college program offered at more than 1,700 colleges and universities across the United States that prepares young adults to become officers in the U.S. Military.

In exchange for a paid college education and a guaranteed post-college career, participants, or cadets, commit to serve in the Military after graduation. Each Service branch has its own take on ROTC.
