Scholarship Advice

• Never pay for a scholarship. This is an indication that the scholarship is not genuine.

• If you receive communications about a scholarship and it feels fishy, it may be fishy. Double check with your CCN. 

• Many scholarships may say you are applying by signing up for an account with their website- it is extremely rare to receive these scholarships. Know that by signing up for the website, you are subscribing to something without receiving anything.

• READ the details of a scholarship very carefully. Look for the eligibility criteria, how to apply, the deadline, and how much the scholarship is worth for how many recipients.

• REUSE your scholarship essay. Use a site like Going Merry to upload an essay you can use for all scholarship applications.

MCAC Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Scholarship

Eligibility: Graduating 2026, GPA f 3.0+, participation in extracurricular activities to include faith or religious based, volunteer activities, or paid employment.

Eligibility: 3.0+ GPA, HS Senior, plan to attend a 2 or 4-year or trade school, have overcome a significant hardship, medical challenge, or family issue relating to cancer in their life.
