The library is open for book checkout every day from 9:30-3:30. With their teacher's permission, students can visit the library any day during this time to browse and to check out books.
Book sign out will start the first week of school and continue until the last week of school.
Based on grade level, this is the maximum number of books that students may check out at a time:
PreK/Kindergarten: 1
First Grade: 3
Second through Fifth Grade: 4
Books may be checked out for two weeks.
Books can be renewed for one additional week if needed.
Students will receive an overdue notice if they keep a book past the two week loan period.
There are no fines for overdue books.
We ask that students do their best to return books on time so that other students may enjoy them, too.
Students should make every effort to return checked out books to the library.
Per MCPS Regulation JNA-RB: Collection of Student Debts and Obligations, if a book is lost or damaged, the student will be charged a fee for the item.
If a lost book is found after payment is made, money will be refunded.
Ms. Tecler and Mrs. Casper will work with families if there are concerns about making payments for lost materials.
