Counseling Mission:  To promote the academic and personal growth of all students through a comprehensive, whole-child approach.

Counseling Vision:  To build awareness, understanding and foster skill set development as students succeed in a global community.

Curriculum/Lessons

We will continue a combination of classroom counseling guidance lessons.  Peace of Mind, Character Cats trait of the month and lessons matched to specific needs will be conducted during Counseling.  Counseling lessons are conducted every other week for 40 minutes per class.

Dogs @ BES!

One of my passions is meeting students where they are at with creative and engaging therapeutic tools.  I'm truly grateful for some wonderful partnerships I've created between People Animals Love (PALS), Hero Dogs (Service Dogs), and personal connections to facilitate opportunities for students to meet with therapy dogs.

It was a HIT at Burning Tree Elementary and has been a beloved experience within the Bannockburn community as well.  Please email me with any questions or concerns.  See the slideshow below about Skipper, a Hero Dog who is now a therapy dog but worked with BT staff and students during his training.  Our first dog will be visiting during the 2025-26 year on Friday, Sept. 12th.
