Students created an original gnome character after learning about the legends and folklore about gnomes from around the world. Students had to create a gnome as their main subject, and environment or habitat for their gnome to live in as well as decorations, accessories, and fun outfits for their project.

Students looked at the artwork of artist Lisa Congdon and discussed her colorful, bright, and positive artistic style. They created an original book cover using bold colors, shapes, and lines to fill the space in Congdon's grid like fashion.
