Coach Cooper brings over 20 years of coaching experience and has built a strong reputation as one of the premier offensive and defensive line coaches in Montgomery County football.
A proud 2004 graduate of Northwest High School, Coach Cooper played both offensive and defensive line for the Jaguars. His passion for line play and physical football began during his playing days and has shaped his coaching philosophy ever since.
Coach Cooper began his coaching career in 2005 with the Rockville Football League (RFL), serving as the offensive and defensive line coach for the Unlimited team. In 2007, he moved to Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School (BCC) as the JV line coach.
In 2009, he returned to his alma mater, Northwest High School, to coach the JV linemen. The following year, he joined Winston Churchill High School as the varsity defensive line coach while also serving as a middle school head coach.
From 2011–2012, Coach Cooper was a member of the varsity staff at Richard Montgomery High School, coaching both the offensive and defensive lines.
In 2013, he reunited with his former offensive coordinator, Andrew Fields, at Montgomery Blair High School, where he served as offensive line coach and run game coordinator from 2013–2018.
Coach Cooper returned once again to Northwest High School in 2019–2020 as the varsity offensive line coach , making an appearance in the 2019 state championship.
From 2021–2022, he joined Sherwood High School under Andrew Fields, holding multiple leadership roles, including Assistant Head Coach, Run Game Coordinator, Offensive Line Coach, and Defensive Line Coach.
In 2023–2024, Coach Cooper returned home to Northwest High School, serving as the Varsity Defensive Line Coach and Defensive Run Game Specialist alongside his former offensive line coach and close friend, Bucky Clipper.
After taking the 2025 season off, Coach Cooper returns to the sidelines in 2026 with the Blake football family at James Hubert Blake High School, where he will coach the outside linebackers alongside his best friend, Coach Johnson. He brings experience, leadership, and a relentless commitment to developing disciplined, physical linemen and skilled players.
